Advanced Quality Engineer

Webasto Roof Systems, Inc. is currently recruiting for an experienced Advanced Quality Engineer located in their Lexington, Kentucky Plant. 

If you possess a Bachelor’s degree in: Engineering and/or equivalent combination of education and related work experience with 3 years equivalent related experience then this position might be right for you!

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in: Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.


Technical Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field
  • 3+ years quality related experience in automotive assemblies and stampings
  • Certified Quality Engineer preferred
  • Knowledgeable of the following: Metrology, Coordinate Measuring Machines, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Geometric Tolerance, Body Grid Lines and Blueprint reading
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to perform process capability and machine capability studies
  • Ability to work in team oriented environment
  • Knowledge of Class 'A' surface requirements preferred
  • Strong appreciation of customer specific requirements
  • Ability to travel approximately 30%


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provides thorough analysis of all product problems occurring between supplier (engage with ASQE) and final customer
  • Proposes problem resolutions, pursues necessary changes and verifies effectiveness of changes
  • Prioritizes problems on the basis of severity and degree of customer dissatisfaction
  • Informs management of problem status and resolution progress
  • Participates on Cross Functional Business Teams to safeguard proper quality planning activities during the development phase of a new product
  • Continues to support a new product launch activities at the customer after SOP (SOP plus 90 days)
  • Initiates Control Plans, Control Cards, Inspection Instructions and Check Sheets
  • Evaluates and approves ISIR data and prepares the production part approval process (PPAP)
  • Implements warranty reduction plans, initiated by Central Quality
  • Prepares RFQ for gages based on PFMEA, oversees construction and introduction to production
  • Provides initial certification (including R&R) for new gages and equipment
